An eye for an eye…
Wear-a-Wound for both Mark MacPhail and Troy Davis.
Su says, “Sign the letter to the GA Board of Pardons and Paroles!”
Please reblog this to spread awareness about the Troy Davis case. We continue to appeal for clemency. The Board can grant this at any point up to the time of execution. They alone are in the position to grant clemency. The execution is scheduled today 7 pm EST. Clicking the picture takes you to a website that allows you to contact the Clemency Parole Board and the State Board of Georgia by forwarding the generated message from your e-mail. Every message matters. Nobody should be executed without sufficient evidence. To read about Mr. Davis’ case, please click here.
Every little contribution can make a difference.
There are too many things wrong with this case and it’s hard to believe the state of Georgia will go ahead with the killing anyway. Jesus H. Christ.
I'm asking for a favor, Tumblr -- Su says "Sign the petition!"
In repsonse to aatombomb’s and approachingsignificance’s post about Troy Davis, I propose we DO SOMETHING about it that takes 30 seconds.
We’ve all seen Tumblr do some amazing things ranging from donating thousands of dollars to friends in need, raising tens of thousands for countries who faced disaster to finding a place for friends to live, finding them a job or just giving moral support everyday. I’m not asking for money, but how about signing a petition that may save an innocent man from the death penalty?
From the Innocence Project:
Davis was convicted almost exclusively on the basis of eyewitness identification testimony, which has been shown through DNA exonerations and thousands of academic studies to be unreliable. Seven of the nine witnesses who testified at his trial have since recanted and strong evidence points to another person as the real perpetrator in the case.
The only man that can stop the execution scheduled for tonight, September 21 at 7pm, is GA District Attorney Chisolm and he needs to hear from us asap. And so does Mr. Davis.
Sign here. Reblog. Thanks.
Signal boost, part 2.
Press Statement on the case of Mr Troy Davis
The British, German, French, Belgian, Irish and Greek Consulates-General in Atlanta, Georgia issued a joint statement on the case of Mr Troy Davis.
The British, German, French, Belgian, Irish and Greek Consulates-General in Atlanta, Georgia would like to draw attention to the September 19 statement (full text) issued by the European Union on the case of Mr Troy Davis. While we certainly understand the pain of victims of violent crime and their families, we also recall that no legal system, however thorough, is immune from miscarriages of justice, and with the death penalty, these can never be put right. That is why the European Union has reaffirmed its principled and longstanding opposition to the use of capital punishment under all circumstances.

Benoît Standaert, Consul General of Belgium
Lutz H. Görgens, Consul General of Germany
